This year's blizzards and thunderstorms have me admiring the original flashlight, the good ole candle and lantern. While the power was out, it was kind of fun to pretend I was an insubordinate lass exploring the forbidden west wing of an 18th-century castle with a single flame. I think these pretty anachronisms would inject modernity into any space:
